Determination of Potassium concentration in process water
Potassium analysis allows the quantification of K concentration in galvanic process waters. Monitoring the amount of potassium in water is important to ensure the high quality standards of the electroplating industry required by the market.
Method
Test principle
Potassium ions precipitate with sodium tetraphenylborate. The absorbance determined at 420 nm is proportional to the amount of analyte present in the water sample.
Calibration curve
The calibration curve was constructed using standard potassium solutions. The trend of the curve confirmed an excellent linearity of the system over the whole measuring range.
